Today, as the Washington Redskins take on the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card playoff game, IJM is grateful for Redskins QB Kirk Cousins who, ever since hearing Gary Haugen speak at his father's church, has been all-in in the fight for justice. Along with his wife, Julie, Kirk continues to be a champion for victims of modern-day slavery around the world.
Earlier in the season, Kirk left the field more than a little excited after a big comeback win, and his exclamation "You Like That?!" went viral. Kirk decided to make t-shirts bearing the expression, and donated a large portion to the proceeds to IJM.
On Giving Tuesday, Kirk wrote a post for RELEVANT Magazine on how he started caring about justice, and why it is important to give from what we've been given.
And today, at the playoffs, the Redskins will hand out "You Like That?!" rally towels featuring IJM's logo front and center, thanks to Kirk and Julie's enthusiasm.
To top it all off, generous DC-area donors were inspired by their faith to match, dollar-for-dollar, all gifts to IJM today, up to $100,000.
Thanks, Kirk, Julie and the Redskins, for all that you do! You are helping to bring the gift of freedom to so many, and here at IJM, #WeLikeThat!
